The 50th Shannon Boat Rally
(1961- 2010).
Friday 23rd July to Sunday 1st August 2010
Organised jointly by the Carrick Branch and the Athlone Branch of the
Inland Waterways Association of Ireland (IWAI), the Shannon Boat Rally is
the most prestigious and well-attended boating event on Ireland's inland
waterways (see some background information
here).

Rally was opened by President Mary McAleese who unveiled a memorial to
celebrate the holding of the 50th Rally. More news

We're still looking
for items for the Auction, for old
photos, cine-film or videos.
To celebrate our reaching this milestone of the 50th Shannon Boat Rally,
we've organised plenty of quality souvenirs of the

The annual RNLI Auction will take place in SGS Ballykeeran on Thursday
29th July 2010 during the 50th Shannon Rally Auction.
Annually the auction generates over € 5,000 for the RNLI.
This year proceeds of the auction go to fundraising for a new station to
be placed on Lough Ree.
|
In order to maximise the fundraising we appeal to you to provide items:
- of a nautical nature
- useful on board a boat
- of good quality in order to raise considerable funds
Can you please deliver/send all your goods for auction to SGS Ballykeeran
to be delivered no later than 12 o’clock on Thursday July 29th 2010. For
